Compared to larger metropolitan areas, Augusta offers relatively short commute times. Most residents can reach major employers, hospitals, and shopping areas within 15–30 minutes.


Yes, Augusta is a commuter city with limited public transit options. If you move here without a car, I would recommend buying a home or renting a home very close to where you're going to work. I get this question a lot with my incoming resident clients as some are coming from much larger cities. 


Augusta offers riverfront activities, golf, hiking trails, local restaurants, community events, festivals, family attractions, and a growing arts and entertainment scene. We are located 2-3 hours from the beach, the mountains, Atlanta, Charleston, Savannah, and Columbia. My favorite activities are: visiting the Saturday Market in downtown Augusta, walking along the Riverwalk or Greenway, going to Augusta GreenJackets Games, and exploring our local restaurants and coffee shops. 


Yes! Once your housing situation is settled and you know your new address, enter the Masters Tournament ticket lottery for a chance to buy tickets! The course is beautiful! Even if you’re not a golf fan, you should try to go at least once while you’re here. Many homeowners in the area rent out their homes to earn extra money (tax free).
